KidShine

performing arts day camps

The day camp kids will never forget.

WELCOME TO KIDSHINE

KidShine is more than a day camp—it's an opportunity to see God working as kids come together to discover and share their creativity.  The results are nothing short  of amazing—and even life changing.  We can direct the camp for you, or you can direct it with your own team.  Either way, the impact and outreach in your community will be unforgettable.

What it is

Five days.

A KidShine camp is five days of performing arts fun—music, drama, dance, puppets and scenery painting—but it's much more than that.  It's a week of laughter and praise, centered around the joy that comes from being part of God's family.

One performance.

The camp ends on Friday evening with an hour-long performance that will leave you amazed. KidShine's original musicals feature great music, hilarious scenes and solid Christian content, with scripts written specifically for the day camp setting to give every person a special place in the spotlight. The joy, message and excitement of the performance make a lasting impression on both the performers and the audience.

Unforgettable.

Kids love KidShine camps because they know we love kids. Every camper who crosses our path is fearfully and wonderfully made, and we want them to know that. KidShine helps each camper discover what he or she has to contribute—often a new talent or skill—and finds a place for every person to be successful. Participaing in KidShine changes how campers see themselves as individuals and as an essential part of the team. All of this helps kids to know they are dearly loved children of God, and there's nothing better for kids than that.

How it works

Option 1: KidShine directs the camp.

As the host church, you supply the kids, the facility and a few volunteers—we do the rest.  The camp is directed by a KidShine team and we even bring most of the supplies and equipment. Your church pays a hosting fee and guarantees 50 campers (3rd-8th grades).  With this option, campers pay registration fees to KidShine through a secure online system.   The earlier you book your camp, the more you (and your families) can save.

Option 2: You direct the camp.

A KidShine license permits you to conduct the camp using your own leadership team. During the 12-month licensing period, you are authorized to use KidShine’s name, methods, schedule and musical to provide an unforgettable day camp experience. Along with a detailed DIY Manual and KidShine Musical Kit, you’ll have exclusive access to downloadable resources, plus telephone and email support from KidShine’s staff to answer questions and offer expert advice. Your church pays a licensing fee to KidShine; if you decide to set a registration fee for campers to offset the cost, you keep all fees collected.

Who it's for

Kids (and their parents).

Parents bring their children to KidShine for a variety of reasons. Maybe they're looking for a worthwhile summer activity, reliable childcare, or an experience in the performing arts.  KidShine is all of that and more. We're also shouting God's love from the rooftops, and that message just can't be contained in the hearts of our campers. So they go home and share the Good News with their families.  And then their families, some of whom have never heard the Gospel, learn something new, too.

The church.

KidShine exists to offer a creative camp program that many churches simply aren't able to provide on their own. We're excited to be part of the local outreach plan for churches all over the United States.  Not only do we equip host churches to help their own kids shine, but we provide a perfect opportunity for those kids to invite their friends and neighbors.

The world.

KidShine isn't just about helping each camper encounter Jesus; we know that we have good news for everyone. Our job is to help campers know and celebrate God's love, and we provide a unique platform for sharing it with the world. KidShine knows that kids' voices are significant in ministry; they aren't just the future proclaimers of the Gospel—they're ready to do it right now.

What they're saying

"As a Children's Ministry Director, one of my hopes and prayers for this week was that it would be one of those events that blended our older elementary kids with the junior highers. These events are few and KidShine definitely blended our kids in a beautiful way.  We had a large number of 7th-8th graders (sometimes a difficult age to keep engaged in a week of drama camp), but the KidShine team did an exceptional job of making these older kids feel excited about the week. The relationships built between the kids were a big win! Above all and most importantly, I was totally pleased with the spiritual content of the week. It was a powerful message and instruction about worship, praise and the gospel."

Robin Dembicki – Dallas, TX

"What an incredible week.  My daughters came home daily full of good cheer still singing and dancing AND able to talk about the Christian messages they discussed throughout the day. I am still in awe of the wonderful counselors and the tremendous content you have put together.  I was amazed and thrilled to see what they were able to put together in a week! What a gift you have given our kids and to all who attended the wonderful show.  They can't wait to do it again next year."

Michele Regan – Greenwich, CT

"By far the BEST camp we have ever done, and I have three kids who do a lot of camps! The week was phenomenal, and the production top-notch. Can't believe what you accomplished in five short days! Thanks for all your hard work and for loving our kids! Hope you're here next year!"

Kristen Koerner Morris – Tampa, FL

"The fun, excitement, and adrenalin-driven week is something that will be with you for the rest of your life. Not only do you have fun, but you learn important lessons about being encouraging, supportive, humble, and gracious. Kidshine was one of  best times of my childhood—for seven years it was something I looked forward to and I wish I could still do it!"

Emily Heffner – Charlotte, NC

"We had an amazing, fabulous, spectacular, awesome, fun week.  The KidShine team exceeded our expectations. Several things stood out: their positive and respectful attitudes, thankful and appreciative hearts, their genuine interest in all of our kids, patience, organizational skills, and ability to shape the kids from point zero to Friday’s performance."
